It's not always easy trying a new restaurant. People don't want to spend their money because they're not sure how is the food? If the place is clean? How is the service? But you see? That's what I'm here for, and I found a place in NYC, where you can get an amazing burger!
Yes! I know what your thinking, not another burger joint? Well as you may or may not know? I'm a big advocate when it comes to specialty restaurants if I'm in the mood for lobster I'm going to choose a restaurant where their specialty is the lobster!
A sure way to get me to try a restaurant is if the specialty food is in the title of the restaurant! Since the name of this restaurant is 5 Boro Burger, guess where I'm going when I'm in the mood for a good burger in NYC? Ahh, you guys know me well!
5 Boro Burger is on the corner of 36 st, and 6th ave, the orange neon trimming on the walls give the restaurant an ultra modern feel, and is surrounded by windows for the perfect view of the city!
The place is clean and comfortable and has a flat screen TV on every wall. As soon as I walked in, the hosted set my down at a table of my choice, of course, I chose a table facing the window so I could enjoy the view of the city! The waiter came, but I told him I needed a few minutes to check the menu. The menu has a pretty good verity of different types of food for people who may not want a burger.
Like Chicken Quesadilla, Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap, Classic Reuben, and Fried Green Plantain
With mojito (garlic sauce) .

( F.Y.I. ) I was born on Nov 19th, 1969 at The Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Like genuine gypsies, my family travel the tri-state area from 1974, until 1978, that's the year we settled in Atlantic City New Jersey, We would visit New York City, every couple of months to enjoy the great food and shopping. As a kid, I was amazed by all the lights and by the people who lived in the city that never sleeps ( I wasn't much of a sleeper so that part excited me! ).
Just walking in N.Y.C. made me feel famous, it's like being on a movie set, and the director said ACTION! I'm so glad that I was not the only one in my perception and obsession of New York City because some of the biggest motion pictures are made in NYC, Robert De Niro and Woody Allen not only made New York City, a backdrop for their movie's, they also made New York City, their home.
In my teens years my family and I would go to N.Y.C, and I would sneak away to get some alone time, then I would put my cap on backwards, put on my Ray Ban sunglasses and pretend I lived there, I would try to fit in with the real New Yorkers, I would do things like sip coffee out of a white Styrofoam cup ( Even Though I Hated Coffee ) read a newspaper and say hello to people like they were my neighbors, and any chance I had I would tell everyone or anyone who would listen, that I was born in New York City!
Now don't get me wrong, I would not trade growing up in Atlantic City, for nothing! I had a great childhood and lot's of fond memories at the Jersey Shore, and here's my video to prove it http://bit.ly/DoTubeTourAtlanticCity3
But even though I was only five years old when my family moved from New York City, it never really let go of me, or should I say I never really let go of New York City? Because it was always my dream to be famous and to be a part of the Big Apple, and something inside my heart told me that one day my dream would come true!!
Well moving to Staten Island, in 2007 was one step closer to my goal, and opening a YouTube Account was the second step because I started to produce, edit and host my own show called DoTubes Pick Of The Week. Soon my show became very popular, covering small restaurants in Staten Island, and my hometown Atlantic City. I also took my show on the road to many parts of New England like Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine, which you can find on my YouTube site.
But I still did not fulfill my dream of covering New York City, until one spring day when everything inside me said (Today Is The Day!) So I put my NYC cap on and my Versace sunglasses and walk right into my lifelong dream of being a star in N.Y.C. I have to say that New York City, welcomed me with open arms and played the backdrop for my video tour and food review
So come and watch me walk into my destiny of being a real New York City Star!

Someone once said that you're not a real New Yorker until you have lived in New York for at least ten years? Well, I moved to Staten Island about nine years ago, so I guess according to them I'm still a tourist? Thank God! You really can't have any real fun without acting like a tourist even if it's in your own town!
We all understand the concept of blending in your atmosphere, no matter how beautiful your surroundings are, you become blind to it and miss all the beautiful details that only a tourist will notice! That's why a blogger/vlogger needs to have tourist mindset and a tourist's eye to capture all the fun stuff that a resident may overlook!
So I decided to take advantage of being a tourist for one last year before I become an official resident of N.Y. My first stop is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world, a place where people can go and be a professional tourist together, a place where I could fit right in!
( The Metropolitan Museum of Art aka The Met ) right in the heart Of New York City!
So last December, my wife and I decided it would make a great 46th-year anniversary, gift for my mom and dad to take them to The Met, for the afternoon, and dinner at the hottest new restaurant in NYC, Mastro's! Which I will be doing a review on next week and I will place the link here! Mastro's Steakhouse They were pretty ecstatic about the plans and to tell the truth so was I! Oh, by the way, don't look for any pics of my wife or parents because they are camera shy! I swear I must be adopted?
Bobby DoTube
And since I never been there before I decided to take my best friend the CANON T4I Rebel with me so all my fans, friends & family can be a professional tourist with me. Now, of course, this is only 10% of what you could see and experience with all the culture, history, and great stories, and because they have a new exhibit every month, I would definitely suggest you see it for yourself. But until then sit back relax and enjoy!

I swear! Walking up the stairs had my heart skipping a beat! To think of all the famous and influential people that have walked up these stairs? And to be surrounded by individuals from around the world! We met people from Yugoslavia, Argentina, and Macedonia! So how could I contain myself from being overwhelmed with anticipation and excitement on what we're about to experience! Let's face it, this is not Disney Worlds Epcot Center, where everything is an exact copy of places and atmospheres, this is the real deal! The history, the culture and actual artifacts from a society that existed centuries ago! OK, I JUST GOT MYSELF EXCITED AGAIN! So let's go in.
The great thing about The Met is they give you a choice to either pay the suggested price of admission which is $25.00 a person or whatever donation you would like to give with no questions asked!
Now despite all the excitement, I'd like to give you fair warning before you go any further! I'm not trying to pretend to be some great historian that can give you all the details about every item in The Met, the description box with the history of each piece were a foot long and a foot wide! We had reservations at 8 pm for dinner which made it impossible to document any of the histories of the individual items. So I'm going with the old saying, a picture says a thousand words and with the new digital age saying, a video on YouTube is forever! So make sure YOU watch the video tour with great footage and classical music at the bottom of the blog!

Anytime people ask me what my nationality is? I ask them to guess? 95% of the time they say Spanish or Puerto Rican, and about 5% say Italian.
I love to watch their face when they hear I am a (Russian Gypsy!) If only there were a bookie where I could place a bet that they would ask me this next question? I would be a very wealthy man!
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A RUSSIAN GYPSY? Well, since gypsies do not have their own country hence the word " Travailing Gypsies" this is not an easy question to answer, YOU maybe asking the same question to yourself?
Well, I will give you the same answer I give everyone (GOOGLE IT ) because I'm not a 100% sure myself. But there is one thing I am a 100% sure about the gypsy culture in America, we love our food very Spicy
Cherry Peppers. Black Pepper... Cayenne Pepper... Crushed Pepper... Jalapeno or habaneros are usually the first ingredients in every recipe, and if we can find a Restaurant that can provide dishes with this type of spicy heat, we flock to it.
That's why MiMi's Restaurant & Piano Bar on 52nd and 2nd Ave, is my pick of the week. And even though it's in the heart of New York City, when you walk into MiMi's it gives you that neighborhood feel, where everyone knows each other's names, did someone holler NORM! When I walked in?
MiMi's is on a corner location, so it's surrounded by windows with a great view of the city that never sleeps! Year round Christmas lights, table top candles and a campy piano player who plays old Broadway show tunes and sing along's fill atmosphere and if you tip him he will even take request!
MiMi's is a family own and operated restaurant. For the past 40 years, a member of the household has been a host. They will seat you at a table with a red and white checkered tablecloth, either in the main dining area with a view of their old fashion bar and the piano player or in the outer dining area, with full-length glass windows. The dining areas are separated by a beautiful painted glass mural, which gives a majestic glow when the candles are lit! ( Is it me or does food just taste better on a red and white checkered table cloth? )
If the gypsies only learned one thing from the Hollywood style mafia movies, it would be this,
( "T-o.. I-nsure.. P-romptness" )
Tip Everyone!
Because YOU only get what you pay for TIP everyone, and you will get top quality service everywhere you go! So in mafia style, we walk right into the kitchen and tip the cook to ensure special attention to our order.
Now for the nonspicy eaters here are my suggestions. Start off with the garden salad with their blue cheese house dressing, which is thick and rich with chunks of real blue cheese.
For an appetizer try their mushrooms stuffed with prosciutto and covered in a mild marinara sauce, their shell pasta Fettuccine Alfredo with Bacon is perfect for the kiddies as well as the whole table.
But of course, this is the real reason the gypsies go to MiMi's! For their 14 oz NY strip steak and center cut pork chops, both cooked to perfection in red and green Hot cherry peppers. These dishes are so spicy your lips will have a slight burning sensation an hour after your done eating! These dishes are something YOU have to try if you're a hot and spice lover like a gypsy.
Now here was my DILEMMA! After my fantastic night of food, family and sing along's, I got some great pics of the amazing food for my blog, then what happen to me when I got home and tried to upload them on to my PC is every foodie bloggers worst nightmare.
THE SD CARD MALFUNCTIONED, AND 95% OF THE PICS WERE LOST! So of course, panic stuck, and my palms started to sweat, so I took a deep breath and made this 15-second video to my
8,300 Instagram followers!
And this is why I love my foodie family followers because I was flooded with some great pics from their dinner at MiMi's, some fans even found a few pics of myself from a few years back! So to all my Peep's ONE LOVE BABY!

Despite the malfunction in my life Oop's! I mean on my SD card it really was a great night of delicious food, cozy atmosphere and sing along's! And who know's? After a few cocktails, you just might get the nerve to do a duet with the campy piano singer! You'll never know unless you go, you won't regret it!
